Tradition
Bodega Eslava was born in 1939, more than 80 years ago, and emerged as a cooperative thanks to the love for the land and the passion for the vine of 88 winegrowers, its founding members.
A testimony to fight for
Eslava is a small village of about 100 inhabitants. Since always, most of the families of this town have lived and live from working their land and vineyards. The history of Bodega Eslava is the life and history of its neighbors and cannot be understood without them.
Due to the continuous emptying of the rural areas and the aging of its inhabitants, the winery has decreased in number of members and today, 12 enthusiastic and courageous members fight to keep alive what they love the most, what has meant the identity of a community.
Slavic Territory. Heritage from Roman times
Eslava's winemaking tradition goes back much further. Thanks to the heritage found in the archaeological excavations of Santa Criz de Eslava, there is evidence that the Romans cultivated these same lands to make wine more than 2,000 years ago. This combination of history, heritage and winemaking culture is encompassed by Slavic TerritoryThe wine industry, which, through cultural events and wine experiences, values and promotes the richness of this legacy.
