Information
At Bodegas Olimpia we combine our passion for the vineyards with a painstaking care to maintain unalterable the art of viticulture. Three generations linked in the same life project, building our legacy in the Lands of Navarra.
Faithful to our origin, we elaborate our wines with the autochthonous varieties of our region. In each bottle we strive to keep alive the family tradition that we have received and that has become our hallmark.
Our wines are the reflection of our inherited work and knowledge of winemaking. We delicately take care of our vineyards and select with care and detail the best of our autochthonous variety during the selected harvest, totally manual.
Our winemaker is responsible for achieving excellence in the winemaking process, starting a delicate journey that ends offering the exclusivity characteristic of Bodegas Olimpia. After the final aging in bottle, we can enjoy personal creations of great excellence, with strength and elegance, and with a great aromatic tonality and registers of flavors.
Passion and love for the vineyard and knowledge in the art of viticulture have been our family's most important heritage. Three generations have maintained this family commitment to an idea that is much more than a business project: it is a family legacy, it is our way of life.
Always loyal to the land, with a fighting and enterprising spirit, we have maintained the project that our grandmother started, giving birth to a lineage dedicated to viticulture.
In homage to our origin, we baptized our winery with the name of our grandmother: Flavia Olimpia Oficialdegui.
Our D.O. Navarra Winery is located in the town of Cáseda, a historic village on the banks of the Aragón River, in the lands of the Lower Mountains in the middle zone of Navarra. It is one of those wineries where not a detail escapes, where everything is taken care of.
A building built in 1951, which combines the most traditional aspects with new winemaking technologies. All its tanks are made of concrete, excellent for vinification and to preserve the fruit and freshness of our wines at their best.
In our aging room, French, American and Navarrese oak barrels coexist in harmony, giving us very elegant wines, perfectly assembled and balanced, which combine the fruity aromas and the goodness of the Grenache and Graciano varieties with the delicate contributions of the barrels where they have rested.
Our vineyards, our land, are the essence of our wines. Located in the Navarrese towns of Artajona and Lerga, they are the ideal enclave for the cultivation of our Garnacha vines.
CLIMATE AND TERROIR
Altitude in a unique location where we find influences from the Mediterranean and Atlantic climates. Each brings its own characteristics to the vegetative development and favors slow and balanced ripening.
As our ancestors did in these same fields, we cultivate Garnacha and Graciano, with care, dedication, affection, in a traditional and sustainable way; maintaining the natural balance of the soil and using only organic fertilizers.
The soil of our vineyards gives personality to the wines thanks to the existing balance between clays, sands, gravels and limestone; an ideal soil for grape growing, rugged and grateful at the same time. One of those soils that forces the vine to struggle and gives it a unique character.
