Navarra Pop Up arrives in Bilbao to break molds

The Navarra D.O. disembarks on December 12 at the La Sinsorga cultural center with a day that promises to surprise: thematic tastings, meetings with producers and live music in a format designed to change preconceived ideas and move away from the classic look.

The Control Board of the D.O. Navarra disembarks for the first time in Bilbao with a direct, fresh and straightforward proposal: Navarra Pop Up. It will take place on December 12 at La Sinsorga, a space that for one day will be transformed into a showcase for the most surprising Navarra wines.

With this ephemeral event designed to remain in the memory, the Designation of Origin aims to leave wine professionals and wine lovers with their mouths open with a day in which there will be no manuals, no corsets, no labels, just wine, conversation and discovery. The program includes four unusual tastings, an informal meeting area and a live bar to taste, toast and repeat. The intention is clear: to break with the established, and show the character of today's wines with D.O. Navarra, especially rosé and Garnacha, its great signs of identity.

The day will begin with "Top pinks and no corset." a tasting for professionals to explore the freer, premium Navarra D.O. rosés, those that defy stereotypes and offer new readings. Next, "Garnacha chachacha" will highlight the rhythm and energy of this historical variety, with a session that wants to sound different. Already in the afternoon will come "Fermented, not submissive."The event will be a meeting with female winemakers from Navarre who will share their personal and courageous view of wine and the land. The closing, with "Musicata rosa: saxophone, rosette and end of party".will combine rosés with live music and an implicit invitation to enjoy without solemnity. Throughout the day, those who come by will be able to pass through the area. "blah blah blah blah and glu glu glu glu", a corner with sofas, wine and the desire to chat, and the bar of La Sinsorga, which will offer by the glass different references D.O. Navarra to let yourself go without an itinerary.

The initiative is part of the D.O. Navarra's strategy to reinforce its presence in Bilbao with its most outstanding wines, consolidate new audiences and bet on flexible formats, capable of connecting through emotion, quality and direct contact. In the Biscayan capital, where rosé wine has traditionally been identified with Navarra, this proposal aims to update that link from a broader and more contemporary perspective.

"We want to show a new view of the D.O. Navarra in Bilbao, of what it is today, to debunk myths and offer the great wines that are being produced in the region: fresh, diverse and with a lot of personality. This format allows us to leave the classic discourse and approach people from the freedom and conscious enjoyment", Puy Trigueros, manager of the Control Board, pointed out. "If someone comes in out of curiosity, we want them to leave surprised and wanting to look for more Navarre in their glass.".

The organization of Navarra Pop Up is possible thanks to the collaboration of the Government of Navarra through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
