The Control Board of the D.O. Navarra organizes a professional show and a master tasting in Copenhagen to reinforce its presence in the Danish market, which grew by 172% in 2024.

The Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin Navarra has successfully carried out a trade mission in Denmarkin a new drive to strengthen its presence in strategic European markets. The event, held at an exclusive gastronomic venue in the center of CopenhagenThe event brought together a careful selection of wine professionals: importers, buyers, sommeliers and specialized press, all of them with a high profile and with a real capacity to prescribe and buy.

The event, focused exclusively on professional audiences, consisted of a wineries' lounge, B2B meetings and a master tasting by the prestigious Danish sommelier Anders Halskov-Jensen, champion of Masterchef Denmark and one of the most influential communicators of the sector in the country. The seven wineries of the D.O. Navarra present in this mission were: Bodega Inurrieta, Bodegas Marco Real, Bodega Otazu, Quaderna Vía, Señorío de Sarría, Tandem and Pago de Larrainzar.

The interest of the attending public was high and positive. Professionals held meetings with all the participating wineries and showed a special enthusiasm to learn more about the history, philosophy and product range of each one of them. The wines were surprising for their quality, arousing curiosity and admiration among the attendees, which suggests good commercial prospects.

Although Denmark is not among the main markets for DO Navarra, in 2024 it has experienced exceptional export growth, with an increase of 172% over the previous year and more than 130,000 liters sold. This positive trend, together with the interest shown by the wineries, has motivated the organization of this commercial action in the Danish capital.

Puy Trigueros, manager of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Navarra, highlights: "Denmark is a strategic gateway to the Nordic countries, as it has fewer barriers to entry than its neighbors, where state monopolies rule. The interest in wine in this country is very high; rare is the restaurant that does not have an extensive menu with international references, especially European. Our intention with this event has been to facilitate direct contact between Navarre wineries and Danish importers, in search of a stable distribution. The balance is very positive, as a first contact, and we are confident that the good results will allow us to consolidate future actions in this market in the coming years".

With this trade mission, the Control Board reaffirms its commitment to support wineries in the opening and consolidation of international markets, aligning its strategy with consumer trends and global growth opportunities for DO Navarra wines.

This international promotion action was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Government of Navarra through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
