Navarra D.O. wines are a resounding success in Mexico Navarra D.O. wines triumph in the Aztec market.

The Navarra Denomination of Origin shines in its latest international promotional action, dazzling at the tenth edition of the prestigious "Salón Selección Peñín Ciudad de México". The region was the undisputed protagonist of the event, consolidating its position as a wine reference that is gaining more and more ground outside our borders.

Olite, May 26_ With an outstanding participation in the most important exhibition of quality wine in Mexico, Navarra was strongly presented thanks to the promotional action of the Control Board and the presence of these seven wineries that offered a sample of the talent, richness and quality that defines D.O. Navarra wines: Bodegas Castillo de Monjardín, Faustino Rivero Ulecia, Bodega Inurrieta, Bodegas Manzanos-Campanas, Nekeas, Bodegas San Martín and Señorío de Sarría.

Thus, Navarra stood out as the leading wine region in this event of reference for professionals, also giving a master tasting led by Puy Trigueros, manager of the Control Board, under the suggestive title "D.O. Navarra, the hidden jewel of northern Spain". The event was a great success, bringing together more than fifty experts from the sector - distributors, importers and sommeliers - who had the opportunity to discover the excellence of D.O. Navarra wines through a careful selection of references from the participating wineries: Doña Isabella Rosado 2024, Señorío de Sarría Viñedo Cinco 2024, Castillo de Monjardín Chardonnay Gran Reserva 2013, Alma de Unx Tinto 2022, El Chaparral 2022, Laderas de Inurrieta 2021 and Las Campanas Crianza 2020. The tasting left an impression on the attendees, who highlighted the freshness, quality and uniqueness of the wines presented, many of which are still little known in the Mexican market.

The Hacienda de los Morales was the setting for this successful display, where wines from the Navarra Designation of Origin shone both for their high scores (90 or more points in the Peñín Guide) and for their exceptional value for money (recognized with up to 5 stars). The new vintages and the wineries' most representative wines surprised an audience increasingly interested in broadening their gaze beyond traditional Spanish wines.

"In this event we have corroborated the interest that Mexico has in Navarra D.O. wines. This is an important market, the eighth in exports, both in volume and value; but above all it is a market with great growth potential. Last year sales increased by 57% in value and 87% in volume. Being a country to which we sell mainly reds, the people who visited us were also interested in whites and, especially, in our rosés", said Puy Trigueros after his return. He also adds that the public has highlighted the surprising quality of wines that, although they are less known in Mexico than other Spanish wines, stand out for their freshness and their contribution of discoveries and surprises to conquer the most demanding palates.

With this action, DO Navarra has not only taken another step forward in its internationalization strategy, but has also managed to position itself as a differentiating oenological proposal with great potential in the Latin American market. The mission has undoubtedly closed with a success that leaves the door open to new opportunities and commercial alliances.
