The Grenache is the type of grape used to produce most of the traditional rosé Navarra. For its elaboration, it is used the bleeding technique which, together with the freshness and aromas of the grapes have given unbeatable results.
This is the most representative grape of the area and in Navarre it acquires particular characteristics: it is a "atlantic grenache".more fresh than in other regions, less alcoholic and with a singular acidity. In Navarra it has a greater presence in the Low Mountain y Lower Ribera.
This variety occupies the 23,80% of the viticultural map of the Denomination of Origin Navarra being one of the main grape varieties used to make wine.
In total, there are about 2,700 hectares. This variety is especially intended for the production of red wines with good acidity, medium body and very aromatic that are young or red wines for aging.
In addition, the wines made with Grenache White are fruity and with a subtle elegance that conquers the most exquisite palates. In the Denomination of Origin Navarra white varieties account for 10%.
Wines made with this variety can be paired with pasta dishes, rice, or fish. And, of course, with cheeses, such as the Roncal Cheese. However, to accompany the wines produced with Red Grenache we recommend meat dishes, such as Beef from Navarraroasts, roasts, or side dishes of vegetables from Navarra.
Back tois colors, rosé and red whites; a variety in trend among the professional public, authentic to our region and with which we produce fresh wines of exceptional quality. We hope that Prowein will serve as an impulse to strengthen the export of our wineries and consolidate their position in the international market", said David Palacios, president of the Control Board of the Navarra Designation of Origin.
