The D.O. Navarra has celebrated a collective and simultaneous toast in Los Arcos, together with 35 other appellations of origin in the country, to extol the value and goodness of D.O. wines.
This Saturday, October 22, was held for the sixth time the D.O. Wine Movement Day, an annual celebration, designed for the public, festive and vindictive, in which 36 Designations of Origin participated this year, with different events to highlight the importance of the concept of Designation of Origin, the quality wine produced in their area and its contribution to the sustainability of their territories. The 2022 edition has been the largest edition so far, being the one that has brought together the largest number of wine D.O.'s. The Regulatory Council of the D.O. Navarra selected the Navarrese town of Los Arcos to carry out this year's event, bringing together more than 250 people linked to this town of great wine tradition and culture. The purpose of the D.O. Navarra is to organize the event each year in a different emblematic place, making this toast itinerant to give visibility to all the towns that represent the Designation of Origin Navarra.
The D.O. Wine Movement Day is an action that celebrates and vindicates wines with Designation of Origin for the value of these as protectors of the collective heritage for decades, the environment and local culture and customs. All these characteristics define and give identity to each of the areas to differentiate them from each other. In addition, they are guarantors of a recognized quality linked to a specific origin and structure an economic sector that contributes to rural development on a daily basis. In particular, this edition also sought to recognize the role played by appellations of origin as sustainable territories.
"The D.O. Wine Movement Day, in addition to highlighting the value of D.O. wines, allows us to be in contact with people closely linked to the most emblematic localities of our appellation", comments David Palacios, president of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Navarra and CECRV.
