Jan 27, 2018

The Spanish Wine Federation (FEV) and the Spanish Conference of Wine Regulatory Councils (CECRV) are seeking ways of collaboration between the two organizations to promote some of the issues on the sector's agenda.

The Spanish Wine Federation (FEV) and the Spanish Conference of Wine Regulatory Councils (CECRV) met to discuss ways of collaboration that both entities can establish in matters of common interest in the wine sector. Among other issues, the president of CECRV and the D.O. Navarra, David Palacios, and the president of FEV, Miguel A. Torres, analyzed the fight against climate change on which they agreed on the need to provide channels of access to research and tools for the prevention of the effects of global warming.

The search for self-regulation measures to educate and communicate a culture of responsible wine consumption to consumers was another of the issues discussed at the meeting. In addition, the organizations valued the system of authorizations for new vineyard plantings and replantings and both agreed on the relevance that this tool has for the sector to establish an orderly growth of production. However, with possible improvements for the future.

In this way, CECRV and FEV are committed to maintaining a fluid communication channel to contribute to common decision-making on issues of joint interest. This will also promote greater coordination between partners (wineries and appellations of origin).
