Navarra which will group together the different companies that will exhibit their products to offer them to attendees. It is one of the most important events in the region.
"It is very difficult to get a spot to exhibit at this very exclusive fair, which is aimed at a highly professional audience. Despite the various twists and turns we've had to go through, the conditions have been met for Navarra to have a presence at it. Although we are not traveling from our region, we will have representatives from the wineries in the country there. “comments Javier Santafé, managing director of the Navarra Denomination of Origin Regulatory Council.
Even in the context of the crisis caused by the pandemic originating from COVID-19, Spain remained in 2020 as the fourth largest exporter of wine to China, according to a report published by the Spanish Wine Market Observatory (OEMV) and with the highest prices in its history, surpassing that recorded in 2011. Last year, Navarra sold close to 1.3 million liters of wine in the Asian country, almost entirely reds. 2020 was a year with a significant drop in China's wine imports. However, 2021 has started with positive figures for the Designation of Origin, and it appears that sales in January and February are becoming more dynamic. Sales have increased by more than 26%during that period, with the export of 258,000 liters of wine. China is one of the main destinations for D.O. Navarra wines.
