Meeting with the hotel and catering industry

The hotel and catering industry of the Comunidad Foral responded to Navarra's invitation and attended the Navarra Wine Colors Show at the Hotel Tres Reyes in Pamplona to enjoy a day in which 28 wineries presented nearly 200 wines.  

This has not happened since 2019. 28 wineries met with the Navarrese hotel and catering industry at the Hotel Tres Reyes in Pamplona to present their new products and know-how through nearly 200 white, rosé and red wines. The guests invited to the event, all of them professionals related to bars, restaurants, hotels in Navarra, as well as wine distribution or dissemination, had the opportunity to enjoy this day that posed a reunion of the wine sector with the hospitality industry so affected by the pandemic caused by covid-19. "Both the closure of the on-trade and the other measures adopted have had a serious impact on our sector, causing historic declines in the sales of our wines. This channel is fundamental for our commercialization and our appellation of origin finds in its own region one of its main markets. Now that we are beginning to see positive figures and a certain recovery with respect to last year, we wanted to celebrate the meeting with our"Javier Santafé, managing director of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Navarra, commented.

The event began with a tasting The colors of Garnacha Navarra in which the attendees tasted white, rosé and red wines made from the aforementioned grape variety. Itziar Gómez, Regional Minister of Rural Development and Environment of the Government of Navarra, was present and gave a very positive assessment of the wines of the D.O. Navarra, as well as sending a message of support to the wine sector in its recovery. The Navarra Wine Colors Show was brought to a close by the Master Of Wine, Frank Smulders, who praised the quality of the Navarra Denomination of Origin together with the president of the Control Board, David Palacios.
