Nine wines made with Garnacha have been recognized at the Grenaches du Monde competition in an edition that featured four different territories for the jury's tastings.
The international competition for wines made from the Garnacha grape variety, Grenaches du Monde, has celebrated its latest edition. This time, the jury's tastings took place in four distinct wine-producing regions in Spain, France, and Italy. With 192,455 hectares of vineyards, Garnacha ranks seventh among the most planted grape varieties worldwide. In Europe, it holds the third position.
Navarra has nearly 2,600 hectares of Garnacha, making it the second-most planted variety and representing over 25% of the Designation of Origin's entire varietal framework. Its presence continues to grow year after year. It is used to produce red wines and the vast majority of the rosés that bring such prestige to the region. White wines are also made with Garnacha Blanca.
Nine wines have been recognized with a medal in the competition. Navarra has won four gold and six silver medals.
