Navarra D.O. Wines Selection 2023

These are the wines chosen to represent the Navarra Designation of Origin in the Control Board's promotional activities for one year, selected in a blind tasting by an external panel of professional tasters.

This year the "Navarra D.O. 2023 Wine Selection" is made up of 10 categories of different types of wine.

The Navarra D.O. Wines Selection 2023 is made up of ten wines that have been selected in their respective categories after a blind tasting. The choice has been made by an external jury made up of professionals from the tasting panel of Laviniawho have tasted more than 160 references belonging to nearly 50 wineries of the Navarra D.O. which are presented on a voluntary basis. The tasting was held at the Olite headquarters of the Control Board of the Designation of Origin.


The wines with the highest scores in their category and, therefore, members of the Navarra 2023 D.O. Navarra Wines Selection are:

- Príncipe de Viana White Edition 2022 of Bodegas Príncipe de Viana such as white wine D.O. Navarra.

- Nekeas Chardonnay Cuvée Allier 2021 of Nekeas as white wine D.O. Navarra with crianza.

- Sada Palace Rosé 2022 of Bodega de Sada as rosé wine D.O. Navarra

- Albret Rocio 2022 of Finca Albret as rosé wine D.O. Navarra with aging

- Ilagares Red Grenache 2022 of Bodegas San Martín as red wine D.O. Navarra Añada.

- Castillo de Monjardín Deyo Merlot de Autor 2018 of Castillo de Monjardín as red wine D.O. Navarra with crianza.

- Blaneo Grenache 2021 of Pagos de Araiz as red wine Grenache D.O. Navarra

- F. Olimpia Limited Edition 2019 of Bodegas Olimpia such as red wine D.O. Navarra varietal.

- Valdelares High Expression 2020 of Valdelares Bodega y Viñas as a red wine D.O. Navarra coupage.

- Ochoa Moscatel Late Harvest 2021 of Bodegas Ochoa as sweet wine D.O. Navarra.


These wines will be used over the next twelve months for the Control Board's promotional activities that require their presence, such as specialized tastings, training activities, events and presentations.

Navarra, David Palacios, affirms.


The presentation of the diplomas to the wineries that produced the wines chosen in the Navarra D.O. 2023 Wine Selection was held in the auditorium of the Confederación Empresarial Navarra (CEN) in Pamplona and was attended by the following people Itziar Gómez López, Regional Minister of Rural Development and Environment; Ana Elizalde, Deputy Mayor of Pamplona City Council and Councilor of Strategic Government, Commerce and Tourism; Carlos Fernández Valdivielso, Secretary General of CEN Navarra; and David Palacios, President of the D.O. Navarra Regulatory Council.


In addition, the attendees were able to enjoy the screening of the documentary film "And to the vineyard too: the history of the women of San Martín de Unx".directed by the Navarrese filmmaker La Chica de la Garnacha.
