The presence of Navarra in this world reference event has been important. On the one hand, the Control Board has been present with an enoteca where visitors have had the opportunity to taste freely about 50 references of white, rosé and red wines getting an overview of the quality and personality of Navarra wines. On the other hand, the wineries have been present in a renewed institutional stand promoted by INTIA-Reyno Gourmet which hosted 13 wineries: Bodega Marqués de Montecierzo, Bodegas y Viñedos Quaderna Vía, Viña Aliaga, Ubeta Wines, Bodegas Castillo de Monjardín, Bodega Inurrieta, Bodegas Piedemonte, Bodegas Escudero, Viña Zorzal Wines, Bodegas Ochoa, Bodegas Lezaun, Bodegas y Viñedos Alzania and Bodegas Tandem. There was representation from both market leaders in the global wine sector, as well as importers and exporters, distribution agencies, premium vineyards and cooperatives. Traditionally, Spain is one of the main European wine producing countries exhibiting at ProWein. Therefore, for international buyers from the food retail trade, specialized distributors and HoReCa, also this year the fair has undoubtedly been the main trade event in the sector. In total, despite the warning strikes in the public transport sector, 49,000 trade visitors from the trade and gastronomy came to Düsseldorf from 141 countries, 22% more than at the 2022 edition.
"The D.O. Navarra wineries and the Control Board make a positive assessment of the ProWein 2023 edition. We are very satisfied with the quality of the professional visitors, especially international ones. The export business is very important for our producers and at this event they have the opportunity to strengthen and expand their international trade relations." declares Elena Arraiza, manager of the D.O.
