The Cazuelica and D.O. Navarra Wine Week is back, organized by the Association of Hospitality and Tourism of Navarra and sponsored by the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin of Navarra. This enogastronomic event aims to promote the elaboration of traditional Navarrese cuisine and its pairing with Navarra D.O. wines.
After 21 years of celebration, the concept of Cazuelica, gastronomy of always, "the grandmother's", has become a traditional gastronomic jewel in miniature, also paired with our wine heritage of Navarra.
Thirty-eight establishments from Pamplona, Ayegui, Egües, Larraga, Zizur Mayor and Arre have registered for this twenty-first edition. They will compete with a unique casserole paired with a wine D.O. Navarra chosen by each of the participating establishments.
As a novelty, this year there will be a Musicata with Navarra D.O. Wines.
The musicata is an instructive tasting of quality wines from the D.O. Navarra, accompanied by live saxophone music. Tasting instructor Pedro Bujanda and saxophonist Fernando Sanchez will taste 4 wines of the Designation of Origin of Navarra accompanied by saxophone music and will end this event tasting the casserole "Pig's trotters stew with chickpeas" winner of the 2021 edition. "CONTEST IGERS CAZUELICA AND WINE D.O. NAVARRA".
For the ninth consecutive year, a photography contest will be held on Instagram open to the public, in which users can participate by uploading photos taken during this gastronomic event. The prize, awarded by a jury, will be for the most original photograph and the winner will be given a set of 6 bottles of wines D.O. Navarra. The award will be presented on Wednesday, October 19, coinciding with the final of "la Cazuelica".
The requirements to participate are:
- Upload a photo to Instagram showing one or more cazuelicas paired with one of the Navarra D.O. wines recommended by the establishments.
- Follow @vinosnavarra @hostelerianavarra
- Mention the photos with the official hashtag #CazuelicayVino2022
