The Regulatory Council of the D.O. Navarra and the wineries participating in one of the main events of the wine sector in the world, confirm the interest aroused by D.O. Navarra wines.
The world's most important trade fair in the wine sector, ProWein, has welcomed 47,000 professional visitors from 135 countries and 5,400 exhibitors from 65 countries to the German city of Düsseldorf.
Once again, during three days of the fair, Navarra has taken advantage of this important event to present its wines and strengthen its export business. Ten wineries of the Designation of Origin Navarra have exhibited their wines and novelties at the stand promoted by INTIA- Reyno Gourmet: Viña Aliaga, Bodegas Marqués de Montecierzo, Bodega de Sada, Viña Zorzal Wines, Piedemonte, Quaderna Via - Organic and Biodynamic Wines, Bodega de Liédena, Castillo de Monjardín, Ubeta Wines and Bodega Inurrieta. In addition to the wineries that participated individually and with their own stand, as group exhibitors or through their distributors: Bodegas Manzanos, Otazu, Bodega Pago de Cirsus, Bodegas Navarrsotillo, Bodegas Marco Real, Bodegas San Martín, Bodegas Príncipe de Viana, Bodega de Sarría, Pago de Larrainzar, Viñedos y Bodegas Alconde, Bodegas Pagos de Araiz, Aroa Bodegas and Bodegas Marqués del Atrio.
Likewise, the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin has reinforced the presence of Navarra with an enoteca focused on white, rosé and red wines made with Garnacha, the most emblematic variety of the region and in vogue in the sector. This format of participation has given visitors the opportunity to tour Navarra through its five production areas, checking first-hand the richness of this land and the freshness and authenticity of its Garnacha wines.
"Exports account for 30% of the sales of the Navarra Designation of Origin and our presence at Prowein is an important event to continue to showcase the richness of Navarra and the quality of our wineries. These days, the main buyers from all over the world are coming to Düsseldorf and, among them, a large number of executives with decision-making power who are showing their interest in including Navarra wines in their portfolios", said Elena Arraiza, manager of the D.O. Navarra Regulatory Council.
Germany has been a priority destination for Spanish wine exports for many years. For this reason, this has been the first annual visit of the Control Board to Germany. In May, the D.O. Navarra will participate in Munich (capital of one of the regions with the greatest purchasing power in Germany) in the "Chef of the Year" event attended by more than five hundred professionals from the sector with a wine showroom with a showroom of wineries and a master tasting given by a specialized and influential prescriptor in the country. With its presence at this key event, Navarra aims to take advantage of the synergies of the concentration of key profile visitors such as chefs, importers, HoReCa, sommeliers, retailers and specialized press.
Navarra's participation in Prowein has been financed thanks to the collaboration of the Government of Navarra through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
