Navarra participates in the construction of a network of enotourism sites

The Navarra Designation of Origin Control Board participates in a project for the creation of the Space for sustainable wine tourism and cross-border culture (EST)

The creation of the EST has the following objectives The objective is to emphasize the culture and heritage of wine while energizing sustainable tourism in the appellations of origin and wine routes. This is done through the construction of wine tourism spaces such as the one that will be set up at the headquarters of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Navarra, activities for tourists within these spaces and events with a wider public to raise awareness of environmental issues and the conservation of the cultural heritage of wine.

The main challenge of the project is to highlight the affinities between the regions of the POCTEFA area in France and Spain in terms of sustainable tourism through a common cultural heritage: wine. The partners of the plan are: D.O.P. Cariñena, Les vignerons du Jurançon, Cave de Jurançon and Developia.

The project aims to create an eno-tourism and cultural network that will also serve as an example among the different EU countries, helping to boost local economies, create business opportunities, especially for SMEs, and promote innovation in digital technologies in the tourism and cultural sector.

This project is focused on wine farmers, workers in the sector and local tourism agents so that they can focus on sustainable tourism. Indirectly it will improve depopulation and unemployment, boosting the overall economy.
