More than thirty wineries from the Navarra Designation of Origin have closed their participation in Barcelona Wine Week with a very positive balance, marked by intense commercial activity, a notable increase in international contacts and the generation of new business opportunities in a show that has clearly reinforced its global dimension.
The Designation of Origin Navarra concludes its presence in the latest edition of Barcelona Wine Week (BWW) consolidating its position as one of the most dynamic wine regions with the greatest potential in the national scene. During the three days of the fair, the wineries from Navarra have held continuous meetings with buyers and distributors, establishing new business relationships with professionals from strategic markets around the world. The 2026 edition of Barcelona Wine Week has been marked by its great international leap, the commercial dynamism and the high level of sectorial networking.
In this context, Navarra occupied a prominent place at the show, showing its muscle as one of the most relevant appellations of origin in the country and with the greatest capacity for growth. The quality and diversity of its wines, the characteristic freshness of its elaborations -a value especially appreciated by the current market- and the good work of its wineries have attracted the attention of national and international buyers. Navarre's participation reflected the wide variety of the region's wine business network, with the presence of both large winemaking brands and small producers and winemakers, highlighting the export potential of DO Navarra. In this edition, 20 wineries participated in the grouped space of Navarra, among them Bodegas Alconde, Bodega de Sada, Bodega Eslava, Bodega Inurrieta, Bodega Ozalder, Bodega Marqués de Montecierzo, Bodegas Caudalía, Bodegas Marco Real, Bodegas Ochoa, Bodegas Asensio, Bodegas Malón de Echaide, Grupo Príncipe de Viana, Bodegas y Viñedos Alzania, Bodegas Castillo de Monjardín, Nekeas, Bodegas Quaderna Via, Bodega Pagos de Araiz, Tandem, Ubeta Wines and Viña Aliaga. The Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin Navarra, present in the grouped area organized by INTIA, offered an enoteca conceived as an introduction to the typicity and quality of the wines of the region. This space allowed visitors to make a first approach to DO Navarra wines as a prelude to the visit to the exhibiting wineries, resulting in numerous quality contacts and business opportunities. Navarra was also one of the highlights of the show's program of activities, with the master tasting "Grandes Joyas D.O. Navarra: wines that keep stories", selected and presented by renowned international wine taster and expert Beth Willard. The session offered a tour of great wines from the appellation and surprised a professional audience that was captivated by the exceptional quality and personality of D.O. Navarra wines. The selection included Alzania La Cardelina 2021 from Bodegas y Viñedos Alzania; Huracán Daniela Cuvée 2021 from Bodega San Martín de Unx; Pinpilinpauxa 2024 from Ubeta Wines; El Arrebol de la Carracabra 2024 from Viña Palacios; Golerga 2024 from Viña Zorzal; Santa Cruz de Artazu 2023 of Bodegas y Viñedos Artazu; Le Naturel Lakar 2020 of Bodegas Aroa; Ochoa Gran Reserva 2015 of Bodegas Ochoa; Pago de Larrainzar Reserva Especial 2014 of Pago de Larrainzar and Chivite Vendimia Tardía 2023 of Chivite. The president of the Control Board of the D.O. Navarra, David Palacios, valued very positively the participation in the fair: "Navarra closes this edition of Barcelona Wine Week with a very positive balance, both on the part of the participating wineries and the professionals who have visited us. We have been able to verify the great international leap of the show to promote the export of Navarra DO wine and show the world the richness and uniqueness of the wines from our wineries. The high number of business meetings held between exhibitors and buyers shows the great interest of international markets in our region".
The show registered 25,953 professional visitors, of which 20% were international visitors from 73 countries, with an increase of 25% in the number of foreign buyers compared to the previous edition. Among the markets represented were the United States, Mercosur countries -especially Brazil-, Germany, China, the Netherlands, India and Indonesia, as well as a thousand national buyers and distributors from retail, specialized distribution and the horeca channel.
