On June 11, Rosadum, a technical conference on rosé wine, will be held in Olite, with the participation of internationally renowned experts to share their knowledge, vision and concerns about this subject in EVENA.
The Department of Rural Development and Environment of the Government of Navarra and EVENA (Estación de Viticultura y Enología de Navarra) organize with the collaboration of the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin Navarra and Reyno Gourmet a conference for professionals, around the most emblematic and representative wine of the D.O. Navarra, the rosé. On World Rosé Wine Day, Rosadum becomes an unmissable event for the wine sector, with the participation of experts and benchmarks on the national and international scene.
Rosadum will analyze the situation of rosé wines in the world from different starting points. The general director of Rural Development and Environment of the Government of Navarra, Rubén Goñi, and the president of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Navarra, David Palacios, will be in charge of the opening of the program. Among the international speakers, Rosadum will include Nathalie Pouzalgues, head of projects at the Center for Research and Experimentation of Rosé wine of Provence and Elizabeth Gabay, Master of Wine and recognized as one of the most important writers and consultants on rosé wines in the world.
Throughout the day, the situation of this wine in the markets, its history and evolution, the different winemaking methods and their influence on the result, and the future and its opportunities will be discussed. In this context, EVENA will present the results of the comparative trial of rosé production by the bleeding and pressing methods and, on the other hand, Teresa Garde Cerdán, researcher of the VIENAP Group of the Instituto de las Ciencias de la Vid y el Vino, will give a presentation that will offer conclusions on the influence of the production method on the phenolic and aromatic composition of rosé wines. Among the speakers will be Pilar García-Granero, oenologist and professor at the Basque Culinary Center; Félix Cibriáin Sabalza, Head of the Viticulture Department of the Department of Rural Development and Environment of the Government of Navarra and Rafael del Rey, Director of the Spanish Wine Market Observatory (OEMV). After the speeches, Reyno Gourmet will offer an aperitif with its quality products harmonized with a selection of D.O. Navarra rosé wines.
The day before this event, Elizabeth Gabay and Nathalie Pouzalgues will take advantage of their visit to Navarra to taste a wide selection of D.O. Navarra rosé wines and appreciate first-hand the quality, richness and innovation of the wineries of this Designation of Origin.
