This weekend, thousands of attendees enjoyed the wines of the Navarra Designation of Origin on the banks of the Main River, in an exceptional bar with more than twenty references from different wineries. Whites, rosés and reds were surprising for their freshness and authenticity, captivating those who came to this corner of Spain in the heart of Germany. The space "Spanien am Main"organized by Turespaña in collaboration with the Designation of Origin Navarra, has had the objective of showing the cultural, gastronomic and wine richness of Spain. With a privileged location within the Museumsuferfest -event that attracts close to one million visitors each year, The D.O. Navarra has taken advantage of this opportunity to showcase the character of its wines and strengthen its position in a strategic market.
"Germany is the second most important country for DO Navarra wine exports, an essential strategic market for our wineries. Therefore, participating in this type of events is not only a showcase to show our exceptional quality, but also a key opportunity to reinforce our brand in a priority commercial destination", Puy Trigueros, manager of the Regulatory Council of the Navarra Denomination of Origin, points out. Germany occupies the second position in the ranking of the markets to which the Navarra Designation of Origin directs its exports. Last year around 1,217,000 liters of Navarra DO wine were sold, of which more than half were red and rosé wines.

Navarra is a historic region located in the north of Spain, renowned for its rosés and for the freshness and authenticity of its white, rosé and red wines. Its rich and contrasting climate and landscape, together with the privileged location of some of the highest latitude vineyards in the country, make it a unique wine-growing region. Considered the region of rosé par excellence, Navarra is the origin of this style in Spain and a leader in the market. D.O. Navarra rosés stand out for their freshness, versatility and gastronomic character, and are mostly made from Garnacha Tinta using the bleeding method, which guarantees maximum quality. Thanks to its tradition, Navarra remains at the forefront in the production of rosés, both young and aged, with an interesting aging capacity. Garnacha, the region's most representative variety, is also the basis for white, rosé and red wines, both single-varietal and blends, which reflect the diversity and character of the region. Its authenticity makes Navarra an exceptional region with enormous potential to be discovered. It is not surprising that critics, sommeliers and wine lovers from all over the world have set their sights on this small land that has so much to tell.
The participation of the D.O. Navarra in the Museumsuferfest has been possible thanks to the collaboration of Reyno Gourmet and the Government of Navarra, through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
