1,500 people once again enjoyed the Navarra Designation of Origin festival in its ninth edition in Pamplona, after a two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic.
This weekend the Palacio de Congresos y Auditorio Baluarte in Pamplona hosted one of the most successful editions of the Vinofest Navarra. The Navarra Designation of Origin wine festival returned after a two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic and did so to reconnect with its usual audience. And this public responded with special enthusiasm. 1,500 people attended the event, which hung the "full capacity" sign as it had been reduced to create the most suitable atmosphere for the tasting of the wines offered by the wineries present: Bodegas Armendáriz, Bodega de Sada, Bodegas Malón de Echaide, Bodegas Irache, Bodegas Pago de Cirsus, Bodegas Marco Real, Bodegas Nekeas, Bodegas Olimpia, Bodegas San Martín, Bodega Inurrieta, Tandem, Viña Aliaga, Bodegas Beramendi, Vinos y Viñedos Dominio Lasierpe, Bodega de Sarría, Finca Albret, Bodegas Príncipe de Viana and Bodegas Máximo Abete.
All of them presented their novelties in white, rosé and red wines. The opening of the show was held on Friday with a toast by the hotel and catering associations of Navarra: AEHN and Anapeh as sponsors of the ninth edition of Vinofest Navarra as a tribute to a sector that has suffered the scourge of the pandemic caused by the coronavirus. Juan Mari Idoate, vice-president of AENH and Juan Carlos Oroz, vice-president of Anapeh showed their support to the wine sector, joined by the Councilor of Commerce and Tourism and acting mayor of Pamplona City Council, Ana Elizalde. The managing director of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Navarra, Javier Santafé, commented at the time: "The wine sector has a great potential for the future.the wine sector has continued to work in the most difficult times of the pandemic and Vinofest Navarra wants to present the fruit of this effort.". Santafé makes a very positive balance of the celebration that brings together a large number of people, faithful to the event, who visit it to catch up on the wines of the Designation of Origin Navarra. An opportunity that professionals of the sector also take advantage of to learn about new vintages and elaborations of white, rosé and red wines. More than one hundred references were offered for tasting and which offered an interesting tour of the wine map of Navarra and its different areas. Meanwhile, a hundred people participated in the continuous tastings of wines present at Vinofest offered in the exhibition hall of the Navarra Wine School. Tudela will pick up the baton of Vinofest Navarra after the summer with the celebration of a new edition.
