The current director of communications, Elena Arraiza, who has been working for 15 years at the Control Board of the Navarra Designation of Origin, will take over the position in the second half of August.
Elena Arraiza has been appointed manager of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Navarra. She has been working for the entity since 2007 as the organization's Director of Communications. Born in Pamplona, she holds a degree in Journalism from the University of Navarra. These studies have been complemented with a master's degree in Communication Management and another in Viticulture, Oenology and Wine Marketing. After a long career in regional and national media, at the age of 42 she has an extensive experience at the head of communications for the Navarra Denomination of Origin, where she has participated in the definition and strategic planning of promotion within and beyond the borders of the region. This experience has provided him with a vast knowledge of the wine sector and the particularities of the regulatory councils, the management of the appellations of origin and their dissemination.
With the incorporation of Elena Arraiza in mid-August to the management of the Control Board, a new stage in the promotion of the Navarra Denomination of Origin and its strategic repositioning in the national and international market begins. "I am excited about the goals we have set out to achieve. I want to convey this enthusiasm to the sector through my work, for which I have the best team. I am a fervent defender of the Navarra Designation of Origin and I know what it is and what it is capable of being. I will not cease in my efforts until we reach the horizon we see today", says the new manager of the Control Board. The entity has just begun a new term of office led by David Palacios as president with the firm conviction of setting a new course.
New challenges are now opening up in a different competitive scenario that has been established after beginning to overcome the vicissitudes created, among other things, by the pandemic. To meet these challenges, the Control Board will design different strategic axes that will define the management of the Designation of Origin in the coming years.
The Designation of Origin Navarra is home to 85 wineries and nearly 2,000 winegrowers working an area of 10,000 hectares of vineyards. The Regulatory Council is the body in charge of managing the appellation of origin, issuing quality and guarantee certificates, defending and promoting the Navarra brand in the different markets within and outside its borders.
