The Cofradía del Vino de Navarra is calling for a new edition of its literary contest, which includes two categories: narrative and poetry.
This is the seventeenth edition of the competition organized by the Cofradía del Vino de Navarra "with the aim of encouraging literary production, as well as extolling the Navarra Denomination of Origin and highlighting the links between the world of wine and culture."
All individuals over 18 years of age may participate in the contest, and the works must have the culture of wine as their theme. Two categories are established:
– Narrative. "Olite, city of wine" – Olite City Council.
Awarded 1,200 euros and a lot of D.O. Navarra wine.
– Poetry. “Navarra Wine” – Navarra D.O. Regulatory Council.
Awarded 1,200 euros and a lot of D.O. Navarra wine.
The submission period for entries is open from October 15, 2020, to January 15, 2021, at midnight. The awards ceremony will be held at the Palacio de Olite (Olite, Navarra) on February 14, 2021.

The Spanish Association of Wine Cities (ACEVIN)), has announced the fifth edition of the wine tourism awards. "Wine routes of Spain".. These biennial awards seek to publicly recognize the work of companies and territories in the development and continuous enrichment of the wine tourism offer of the country and the effort made for that purpose. All the establishments and institutions that are part of the Wine Routes of Spain product club, whose activity is related to wine tourism, have been presented.
Currently, the club is made up of 31 destinations located throughout the country, including the Navarra Wine Route; it brings together more than 2,200 companies, of which nearly 700 are wineries. The competition is made up of fourteen categories to which a total of 75 proposals have been submitted, coming from 19 candidates from the 31 Wine Routes.
Thus, the jury decided to award Otazu Winerythe recognition of Best Winery Open to Tourism. "For being a winery that places the world of wine at the same cultural level as the great works of contemporary art, and for its profound expression of the union of wine with history, nature and art; as well as for promoting a wide variety of wine tourism activities and encounters between artists and other cultural agents, fusing art and wine in the winery itself.".
The Navarra Wine Route has received the special mention as Best Sustainable and Responsible Wine Tourism Destination for its sustainable development. The jury was made up of professionals representing the Administration, the wine and tourism sectors, the press, as well as wine tourism critics and experts of recognized prestige.
