MARQUES DE MONTECIERZO WINERY is located on the banks of the Ebro River, situated in an emblematic centenary building built around the year 1900 in what was once the former flour mill most important in the northern zone.

 Prison during the Civil War and later years. At present in the building (listed as local heritage and has the largest concentration of white storks of the area) wines are produced in an artisanal manner with organic certification aged in new French and American oak barrels.

About Us

• Bodega Marqués de Montecierzo is a family-owned business belonging to the Lozano-Melero family, with four generations of extensive experience in the world of wine and viticulture.
• We have own farm (over 30 hectares of vineyard) which allows us the most exhaustive control and care of the land for the production of our wines with our own grapes and organic certification.
• Ours LA SARDA and MAJARRASAS vineyardsat an altitude of 400 and 510 meters above sea level, respectively, are located along the Ebro River in the towns of Castejón and Fitero, in the Ribera region of La Rioja and Navarra. Estates with limestone terroir (originating from the Bardenas Desert) and a stable climate, with significant day/night temperature fluctuations that are very beneficial for our grapes.
• Bodega Marques de Montecierzo is located in an emblematic centenary building in what was the Flour mill most important in the northern area; being used as prison/penitentiary during Civil War and later. After ceasing operations as a flour mill, and its subsequent disuse and abandonment, the building was acquired and renovated by the Lozano-Melero family. Currently, in the building, which is listed as local heritage and with the greatest concentration of white storks From the area, ecological wines aged in new French and American oak barrels are produced artesanally.
• As an example, the Emerging Wines, Montecierzo, and Laudate Dominum have been awarded the best wines by the D.O. for years; some of them, like the rosé, for three years in a row and in 2025 Best Organic Rosé of SpainIn reds: our MONTECIERZO 100% merlot, awarded in 2018 as the Best Red Wine D.O., as well as by the Guía Peñín, or our EMERGENTE crianza (tempranillo – garnacha) with 90 points from Decanter and awarded by Mundus Vini. Also, recently our Moscatel de Grano Menudo (with ecological certification) has been selected as the Best Natural Sweet White Wine of the Designation of Origin, and our Montecierzo Vermouth has been awarded excellence with 91 points from Peñín.
• Eco-labeling. After years of effort and dedication to sustainable farming, we have obtained the European Union's organic certification, which supports the quality and sustainability of our wines.
