
Corella has been the scenario chosen by the D.O. Navarra to join the national celebration of the "D.O. Wine Day" this Saturday. More than two hundred and fifty people gathered to share a collective toast, highlighting the importance and values of wines with Designation of Origin. This initiative has been replicated simultaneously in 32 other Designations of Origin throughout the country.
May 10, 2025, Olite -. In a festive atmosphere and with a great welcome from the locals, Corella, an emblematic town in Ribera Baja, has raised its glasses to celebrate wines with D.O. Navarra. This town, with a rich winemaking tradition, has become the perfect place to highlight the historical and cultural connection between wine and the region.
The ninth edition of the "D.O. Wine Day" focused its message on the importance of wine Appellations of Origin as an engine of social cohesion in the territories where they are present. Under the slogan "Appellations of origin boost our villages - let's toast to their future!", the event aimed to highlight the role of these entities in the present and future development of rural areas.
During the celebration, attendees enjoyed rosé wine D.O. Navarra, accompanied by snacks of Roncal cheese, a brand with the Reyno Gourmet seal of quality, a partner of the event. The day also featured live music, which contributed to a festive and participatory atmosphere.
"At D.O. Navarra, we strongly defend the positive social, economic and cultural impact exerted by appellations of origin. For this reason, we are happy to participate in this collective celebration, together with thirty-two other Designations of Origin from all over the country, to highlight the value of DO wines and their essential role in the history, present and future of our rural areas, contributing significantly to their development and sustainability." said David Palacios, president of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Navarra.
The official toast was attended by Gorka García, mayor of Corella, and David Palacios, president of the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin Navarra and the Spanish Conference of Wine Regulatory Councils (CECRV).
Coordinated by the Spanish Conference of Wine Regulatory Councils, the "D.O. Wine Day" is held every year on the second Saturday of May. This event has a double objective: to bring D.O. wine closer to society as a symbol of authenticity and quality, and to highlight its contribution to the economic and social development of rural areas.
