
The Control Board of the D.O. Navarra participates in the most important international wine fair of the sector and values positively the experience of the wineries, the international scope and the number of contacts established, highlighting especially the resounding success of the monographic master class on the region organized by the D.O. Navarra.
March 19, 2025, Olite -. After its participation in the recent edition of Prowein, the leading international wine fair held from March 16 to 18 in the German city of Düsseldorf, the D.O. Navarra makes a positive balance of its presence in this reference event.
The attendance of Navarra together with the Spanish participation with the Spanish Pavilion, organized by ICEX, has been important. On the one hand, the Control Board has had an enoteca where visitors have had the opportunity to freely taste up to sixty references of white, rosé and red wines, getting an overview of the richness, quality and personality of the wines D.O. Navarra. In this edition, in addition to participating with a wine tunnel, the Navarra Denomination of Origin has been the protagonist of a masterclass that has been a resounding success. In this tasting session, attendees were able to deepen their knowledge of the region and be surprised by the freshness and authenticity that characterize Navarra DO wines. Likewise, the presence of wineries has been numerous, participating in different formats, together with ICEX, with their own stands or as group exhibitors. Bodega Castillo de Monjardín, Bodega Caudalia, Bodega de Sada, Bodega Inurrieta, Bodega Otazu, Bodega Pago de Cirsus, Bodega Gran Feudo, Bodegas Irache, Bodegas Manzanos, Bodegas Marco Real, Bodegas Ochoa, Bodegas Pago de Larrainzar, Bodegas Príncipe de Viana, Faustino Rivero Ulecia, Finca Albret, Hacienda Logos - Bodegas Escudero, Nekeas, Señorío de Sarría, Ubeta Wines, Unsi Wines, Viña Aliaga y Viñedos y Bodegas Alconde, were the exhibiting wineries. In total, DO Navarra was represented by more than twenty wineries, which represents an important part of the total export sales of the appellation of origin.
According to the organization's data, a total of approximately 4,200 exhibitors from 65 countries have presented their wines in eleven halls to boost their business. Also, about 42,000 key professionals from 128 countries have traveled to Düsseldorf to follow the latest developments in the sector, meet with exhibitors and forge or strengthen business relationships. Nearly half of the top buyers from the food, specialty and online retail, restaurant and catering sectors came from Germany, one of the most important import markets. However, ProWein also attracts international trade visitors with a high purchasing power from Central European sales markets such as Benelux, Great Britain and Scandinavia. Decision-makers and buyers with high purchasing power traveled from the United States, Japan, South Korea and China. "The D.O. Navarra wineries and the Control Board make a positive assessment of ProWein 2025, despite the tension in the market. We especially highlight the quality of the professional visitors and the business opportunities and contacts established. In addition, the masterclass we have organized has been a great opportunity to show the typicity of our wines and their enormous potential, aligned with the profile demanded by today's consumers. The export business is key for our producers, and at this event they have been able to strengthen and expand their international trade relations", declares David Palacios, president of the D.O.
