The D.O. Navarra shines at Barcelona Wine Week with a record participation of wineries, an intense agenda of meetings with buyers and the success of the wine tourism tasting organized by the Control Board as part of the official program of activities at the fair.
Olite, February 6, 2025 - The Control Board of the Designation of Origin Navarra enthusiastically celebrates its outstanding participation in the recent edition of the Barcelona Wine Week (BWW), which took place from February 3 to 5 at Fira Barcelona's Montjuïc exhibition center. With a record presence of 22 wineries grouped in the stand managed by INTIA, and the additional attendance of fifteen wineries from Navarra with their own stand, Navarra consolidated its position as a benchmark in the national and international wine scene.
During the three days of the fair, D.O. Navarra wineries held numerous meetings with national and international buyers, establishing valuable business contacts that promise promising business opportunities and expansion into new markets. The quality and richness of styles of the wines presented captured the attention of distributors and industry professionals, reaffirming the excellence of Navarra's wine production. The DO Navarra stand became an essential meeting point for visitors, who had the opportunity to taste different wines from the wineries present at the fair, thus reinforcing their presence and visibility. The majority search for rosé wines and wines made with Garnacha by professionals showed the growing interest and recognition of these wines as the region's most emblematic styles.
One of the highlights of Navarre's participation was the wine tourism tasting entitled "Navarra, the freshness and authenticity of the North", held on February 5 in the Prince Room of the BWW HUB. This innovative experience, which combined the harmony of D.O. Navarra wines with typical gastronomic products and unique tourist proposals, was conducted by David Palacios, president of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Navarra; José Mari Jiménez Cambra, chef of Marisol Catering and Events; and Beatriz López, founder of Reyna de Copas. Attendees praised the innovative format of the tasting, organized by the D.O. Navarra Control Board in collaboration with Reyno Gourmet and Turismo Navarra, highlighting the immersive experience in the region through its wines, gastronomy and tourist destinations, and positively valued the richness of Navarra as a must-visit ecotourism destination.
"Participation in Barcelona Wine Week 2025 has undoubtedly been a resounding success for the D.O. Navarra, strengthening its brand presence in the market and opening up new marketing channels. This achievement reinforces the commitment of Navarra's wineries to quality and the promotion of its wine and cultural heritage." said David Palacios, president of the Regulatory Council of the D.O.
