Dozens of prescriptors have known the novelties presented by the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Navarra in the United Kingdom and have valued the mastery in the elaboration of one of the main appellations of origin of the country.

The D.O. Navarra is back after its meeting in London with prescriptors from the United Kingdom and is very satisfied with the results of its presentation of its new products. First of all, the editor of the prestigious English magazine The Drinks Business and Master of Wine, Patrick Schmitt, led a tasting in which, through the wines from the Selection Best Wines D.O. Navarra 2017 a tour that showed the identity of the region to the attendees, all of them sommeliers, buyers and wine prescribers. These award-winning white, rosé and red wines were evaluated and considered by the tasting participants. Schmitt explained the main characteristics of Navarra wines linked to other cultural values of the region, such as its history, traditions and gastronomy.

Following the presentation, the president of DO Navarra, David Palacios, hosted a meeting with leading writers from the English wine press. Palacios is also president of the Spanish Conference of Wine Regulatory Councils (CECRV) and vice-president of the European Federation of Origin Wines (EFOW). In an informal setting, the guests learned about the new products of the Navarra appellation and had the opportunity to taste, among other things, the recent rosés from the latest vintage, for the first time in the city. They all appreciated their freshness and the attributes that make them great ambassadors of their land. "We had a great opportunity to present our new wines and it has certainly been a success. We have rediscovered to our British prescribers the different varieties that define the personality of this appellation and the wines they provide us with", notes Palacios.

Last year marketed The total volume of D.O. Navarra wine sold on the British island is close to 1,400,000 liters in a destination where Spanish wines are increasing their economic value. This situation offers a great opportunity for the 30 wineries of the appellation of origin that sell their wines in this market. Specifically, rosé is the most demanded wine and becomes the protagonist of Navarre exports to the United Kingdom with more than 400,000 liters sold in 2017.
