The Control Board celebrates in the Casa de Cultura of Burlada the act of recognition to the ten wineries that produce the wines that make up the Navarra D.O. 2024 Wines Selection and that will represent the Navarra Designation of Origin in this year's promotional activities.
The Casa de Cultura in the Navarrese town of Burlada hosted the presentation of the Navarra 2024 D.O. Navarra Wine Selection at an event organized by the Control Board.
Mª Luisa Janices, manager of Bodegas Beramendi collected the diploma for the wine "3 Flores Blanco 2023"; Gonzalo Celayeta, winemaker of Unsi Wines, for "Unsi Terrazas Blanco 2022"; Iñaki Olaberri, winemaker of Aroa Bodegas, for the rosé "Aroa Larrosa 2023"; Alfonso Garcés, national commercial director of Príncipe de Viana, that of "Albret Rocío 2023" from Finca Albret; Raul Lezaun, winemaker and manager of Bodegas Lezaun, that of "Lezaun Tempranillo 2023"; Javier Colio, technical director of Viña Zorzal Wines, that of the red "Viña Zorzal Crianza 2021"; Alicia Eralayar, owner and winemaker of Tandem, that of the Garnacha red "Inmune 2022"; Kepa Sagastizabal, technical director of Bodegas Marco Real, that of the wine "Finca La Pared Graciano 2019"; Fernando García, commercial delegate of Príncipe de Viana's northern area, that of "Príncipe de Viana 1423 Reserva 2019" and Adriana Ochoa, technical director and owner of Bodegas Ochoa, that of "Ochoa Moscatel Vendimia Tardía 2022".
The Navarra D.O. 2024 Wine Selection is the result of a blind tasting carried out by an external jury composed this year by professionals from the tasting panel of the magazine and specialized guide "Vivir el vino" who have tasted about 160 references belonging to forty wineries of the D.O. Navarra that have been presented to the event.
The different categories of the selected wines are: White Wine D.O. Navarra, White Wine D.O. Navarra with Crianza, Rosé Wine D.O. Navarra, Rosé Wine D.O. Navarra with Crianza, Red Wine D.O. Navarra Añada, Red Wine D.O. Navarra with Crianza, Red Garnacha Wine D.O. Navarra, Red Wine D.O. Navarra Varietal, Red Wine D.O. Navarra Coupage and Sweet Wine D.O. Navarra.
The celebration was attended by José María Aierdi, Minister of Rural Development and Environment of the Government of Navarra and David Palacios, President of the Regulatory Council of D.O. Navarra, who intervened throughout the event and in the presentation of diplomas. Also, the singer-songwriter from Navarra, Gussy, provided the artistic touch to the evening with the interpretation of his latest songs and folk and country versions.
After the musical performance, the attendees had the opportunity to taste and check the quality of the selected wines.
"This event is the launch of our wines. This magnificent selection is an extraordinary representation of the richness and quality of our region. The D.O. Navarra 2024 Wine Selection is a great opportunity and a good showcase to the world for the selected wineries, thanks to the intense national and international promotional activity that we carry out", said David Palacios, president of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Navarra in his speech at the event.
