The Navarra Designation of Origin participated in Prowein, the sector's most important international wine fair, held from March 15 to 17 in Düsseldorf (Germany), with an outstanding presence of wineries that highlights the strategic importance of the German market for the appellation.
Olite, March 18, 2026 - The D.O. Navarra was once again present at Prowein, one of the main international platforms for the wine business, with the participation of twenty wineries from the D.O. Navarra. This representation represents a very significant part of the total export volume of the appellation, reflecting the markedly export-oriented nature of the Navarra wine sector.
Participation was organized in different formats. Under the "Navarra" brand, and within the Spanish Pavilion organized by ICEX and coordinated by INTIA, Bodegas y Viñedos Quaderna Vía, Bodegas Príncipe de Viana, Bodega Marqués de Montecierzo, Nekeas, Pacharán Navarro, Bodegas Marco Real, Bodega Inurrieta, the D.O. Navarra Regulatory Council and Bodegas Piedemonte were present. On the other hand, other wineries have attended with group stands or as independent exhibitors, including Bodegas Alconde, Señorío de Sarría, Bodegas San Martín, Unsi Wines, Bodegas Escudero - Hacienda Logos, Bodegas Manzanos - Las Campanas, Bodega Castillo de Monjardín, Viña Aliaga, Bodegas Valcarlos, Pago de Larrainzar, Bodega Caudalia, Faustino Rivero Ulecia - Doña Isabella and Bodega Otazu. This broad presence demonstrates the strength of the sector and its firm commitment to international markets, especially the German one.
Germany has consolidated its position as a priority destination for the Navarra appellation, being its second most important foreign market and representing 18.51% of its total exports. In 2025, the appellation exported 1,160,000 liters of wine to this country, mainly reds and rosés. During the three days of the fair, wineries from Navarra held business meetings with industry professionals from Germany and other international markets. Buyers, distributors, catering managers and online sales specialists attended Prowein, generating key opportunities to consolidate business relationships and open new business channels.
In addition, the D.O. Navarra Control Board had an enoteca space where visitors could freely taste fifty references of white, rosé and red wines. This space provided an overview of the diversity, quality and personality of the wines of the appellation. In its 2025 edition, Prowein brought together nearly 4,200 exhibitors from 65 countries and received more than 42,000 professional visitors, consolidating itself as an essential event for the sector. The manager of the D.O. Navarra Regulatory Council, Puy Trigueros, said: "International business is fundamental for our wineries, and trade fairs such as Prowein allow us to strengthen commercial relations and continue positioning D.O. Navarra wines in key strategic markets such as Germany.".
