Villa de Vi\u00f1as, returns to Eslava on August 9. The Navarrese town celebrates a new edition of its festival in the Lower Mountain, enotouristic and cultural, with the Roman site of Santa Criz and the essence of the wines of the area of the D.O. Navarra as protagonists.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Navarre town of Eslava, with just over 100 inhabitants and a strong winemaking tradition, will celebrate on Saturday, August 9 a new edition of Villa de Vi\u00f1as: the festival in Baja Monta\u00f1a, a proposal that combines archaeological heritage, local history and wine as key elements for rural revitalization. The event is organized by the City Council of Eslava with the collaboration of Bodega Eslava, Baja Monta\u00f1a Vi\u00f1edos y Bodegas and Gonzalo Celayeta Wines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day will begin with a dramatized visit to the Roman site of Santa Criz, considered one of the most monumental sites in the north of the peninsula. Afterwards, the public will move to the city center to visit the exhibition \"Santa Criz de Eslava, reflections of Rome in Basque territory\",<\/strong> that allows to contextualize the Roman past of the area. The final highlight of the day will be the paired tasting: \"Lower Mountain in essence\". <\/strong>to be held at Bodega Eslava, a cooperative with 85 years of history, whose activity is still linked to the families of the village. The session will be guided by journalist Elena Arraiza and will include the participation of Rebeca Lecumberri (winemaker of Bodega Eslava), Gonzalo Celayeta (Gonzalo Celayeta Wines) and Felix Bari\u00e1in, local producer and partner of the project, will present the wines of Baja Monta\u00f1a Vi\u00f1edos y Bodegas (BMVB), a look at the vineyard from the inside, committed to the local. The tasting will show three ways of making wine from Baja Monta\u00f1a, with different styles but a common starting point: the authenticity of the territory and the value of the vineyard. Three different voices, the same way of understanding wine: from the uniqueness of the place, with Garnacha
as the identity axis of the territory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"The festival is a way to make visible what we are, to explain what is behind a small town like ours. History, wine, work and a way of understanding the territory\",<\/strong><\/em> said the mayoress of Eslava, Est\u00edbaliz Lerga. The day will end with a collective toast and sale of local products. As in previous editions, sustainable mobility and responsible waste management measures have been planned. Tickets are priced at 20 euros and are already available on the website of Red Explora Navarra.<\/a> They include the visits and the tasting of seven wines and seven pinchos. Seating is limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
