The forecasts are confirmed and the quality of the fruit is excellent, although the decline will be greater than indicated at the beginning.

Harvesting is generalized in the D.O. Navarra where grapes are being harvested during these days in all of the areas into which the winegrowing map is divided. The white and red grape varieties are grown in Ribera Baja, Ribera Baja, Tierra Estella and Valdizarbe and the earlier ripening vines in Baja Montaña. Navarra, one of the main appellations of origin in the country, is made up of 10,500 hectares in which the following grape varieties are cultivated whiteChardonnay, Viura, Garnacha Blanca, Moscatel de Grano Menudo, Sauvignon Blanc and Malvasía and the inksTempranillo, Merlot, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Graciano, Mazuelo, Pinot Noir and Syrah.

The harvest began at the end of August in the towns of Ribera Baja, in the south of the Comunidad Foral, with the harvesting of the first Chardonnay and Moscatel de Grano Menudo grapes. The first estimates were that the campaign would be completed with a total of 65 million kilos of grapes, although there was a slight decrease in the number of grapes harvested. lower production due to the absence of rainfall. "The decrease in the harvest will be greater than expected at the beginning of the harvest because we are finding a lower weight of grapes, but the fruit we are collecting is of exceptional quality, which leads us to believe that we will have an excellent vintage."The president of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Navarra, David Palacios, affirms.

September has been generally warm and dry, except for the rainfall of the last few days, with a wide temperature variation between day and night, which has led to very good berry development and excellent ripening at the end of the month. These conditions are causing the harvest to be more staggered This allows growers to harvest the grapes at the exact moment with the most suitable profile for the winemakers to produce the white, rosé and red wines characteristic of each winery with a defined identity.

To date, 20 and a half million kilos of grapes have entered the reception hoppers of the wineries. More than 80% in Ribera Alta and Baja. The harvest is expected to continue throughout the month of October.

A día de hoy se está recogiendo la uva en todas las zonas que componen el mapa vitivinícola.
