For this reason and the current marketing behavior, the Asian giant is in the sights of the most important world operators. However, although China is among the top five wine consuming countries, the world supply is very wide and competition is increasing. Spanish wines have seen their exports reduced in volume but are being sold at the highest price in their history, according to the report prepared by the Spanish Wine Market Observatory (OEMV).

The exports from the Navarra Designation of Origin to China were two and a half million liters of wine in 2018, almost entirely red, but with a large increase in rosé. In the current year, only between January and August more than two and a half million liters have been sold, which represents an increase of about 33% compared to the same period last year. Sales starring mainly reds. "China has become the main destination for our wines in the international market, replacing traditional European countries. Everything points to the fact that the export map is focusing on Asia, where new doors are opening in front of the old continent."Jordi Vidal, manager of the Regulatory Council of the D.O.
