In a recent tasting, the wine critic of the prestigious American publication The Wine Advocate,<\/strong> Luis Guti\u00e9rrez has evaluated wines from the Navarra Denomination of Origin in an article focused on the Garnacha variety. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luis Guti\u00e9rrez is the Spanish wine taster for the renowned wine magazine The Wine Advocate<\/a> and has seen his plans to visit the Appellation of Origin truncated during the past few weeks, so he has made this trip from home, due to the incidence of the Coronavirus. From this recent assessment, more than 60 Navarra wines have been rated with outstanding scores<\/strong>. A tasting that has resulted in an article that revolves around the Garnacha, which he claims to see a strong return in the region. This autochthonous variety, which is attracting more and more interest due to its excellent results in Navarra, occupies more than 25% of the vineyards in the Denomination of Origin. Its surface area has increased in the last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the tasting, two Navarra D.O. wines obtained the highest scores and were distinguished as extraordinary<\/strong>La Dama 2016 (97 points) and Punto de Fuga Corral del Mate 2018 (96 points).
