This weekend, Puente la Reina\/Gares is celebrating a conference dedicated to wine and water, two essential elements in the history of the town. The D.O. Navarra Regulatory Council collaborates with this event in which very interesting activities will take place during the whole weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this edition, the celebration of the \"Wine and Water Day<\/strong>\"is part of the cultural calendar organized by the 900th Anniversary of the founding of the village<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The events will begin on Saturday 1, at 11:30 am, when the inaugural ceremony and opening of the day will be held by the City Council and Irene Guede, \"La Chica de la Garnacha\", as a celebrity guest for the occasion. They will also be accompanied by a representation of the D.O. Navarra. Later, at 12:00h, there will be an official tour of wineries and wells of private houses, where you can learn about the history and importance of these places in the economy and the day to day life of yesteryear. Also, it will be possible to visit a recently restored refrigerator, one of the few examples preserved in Navarre. These rooms can be visited until 13:30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n From noon until 14:30, in the Plaza Mena you will be able to taste different wines from the Sarr\u00eda and Inurrieta wineries, to whom the City Council thanks for their selfless collaboration in the day, in addition to being able to purchase a personalized glass made specifically for the celebration. During the morning, in addition, a Pipe Band organized by Garesko Gaiteroak will entertain the streets of the Old Town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On the other hand, a guided tasting with Irene Guede, \"La Chica de la Garnacha\", will be held at 13:00 at the cellar of the Gomacin Society (in Calle Mayor), with free admission until full capacity is reached.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The activities will continue on Sunday, the 2nd, when at 12:00h at the Gomacin Society there will be a presentation and guided tasting by Alfredo Rueda, from the Viticulture and Enology Section - EVENA of the Government of Navarra. The project presented will be \"Cepas singulares y vinos \"old-vidaos\" de Navarra\" (singular grape varieties and \"old-vidaos\" wines from Navarra). Admission will also be free until full capacity is reached.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The day will end with another session of the dramatized visits organized for the 900th Anniversary, at 17:00 from the Church of the Crucifix (prior registration at the Tourist Office).<\/p>\n\n\n\n From the D.O.
