As has been the case in recent years, the harvest has arrived earlier than ever mainly for two reasons: on the one hand,<strong>&nbsp;high temperatures<\/strong>&nbsp;The vine cycle was brought forward by events, especially in April, which caused the vines to sprout earlier than expected, and on the other hand,<strong>&nbsp;the persistent drought<\/strong>&nbsp;suffered in the last three years that failed to counteract the spring storms. As every year, the&nbsp;<strong>home&nbsp;<\/strong>has occurred in the area of the&nbsp;<strong>Lower Ribera<\/strong>The early grape varieties, such as white grapes, have begun to be harvested in the south of the region:&nbsp;<strong>Chardonnay<\/strong>majority in the&nbsp;<strong>Denomination of Origin<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>Muscatel de Grano Menudo<\/strong>&nbsp;which is used to produce the characteristic sweet wines of the region.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to initial estimates made by the Viticulture and Oenology section of the Department of Rural Development and Environment of the Government of Navarre (EVENA), it is estimated that in the&nbsp;<strong>Denomination of Origin Navarra<\/strong>&nbsp;are collected around&nbsp;<strong>66 million kilos<\/strong>&nbsp;of grapes. A figure that represents a<strong>&nbsp;increase&nbsp;<\/strong>of more than one&nbsp;<strong>10%<\/strong>&nbsp;The grapes were above last year's harvest, which is still within the average for the appellation. The grape has a&nbsp;<strong>very good condition<\/strong>&nbsp;in spite of localized outbreaks of powdery mildew that occurred but did not affect the&nbsp;<strong>quality&nbsp;<\/strong>because they have been adequately resolved by the winegrowers concerned. \"<em>Having quality grapes is the fundamental tool for making good wines and adding value to the appellation. So everything suggests that we will have a good vintage of white, ros\u00e9 and red wines, which are the main ambassadors of the appellation.<\/em>\", comments&nbsp;<strong>the president of the Control Board<\/strong>David Palacios.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahead, they expect&nbsp;<strong>two months<\/strong>&nbsp;lengths of&nbsp;<strong>harvest&nbsp;<\/strong>The 85 wineries and the 2,000 winegrowers of the appellation will be the protagonists in optimal conditions, for reasons such as the thermal oscillation between days and nights that occurs in this region.<strong>&nbsp;The Designation of Origin Navarra&nbsp;<\/strong>is composed of about&nbsp;<strong>10,000 hectares<\/strong>&nbsp;The vineyard is divided into five zones: Ribera Baja, Ribera Alta, Baja Monta\u00f1a, Valdizarbe and Tierra Estella. Due to the differences between them marked by&nbsp;<strong>the weather&nbsp;<\/strong>y&nbsp;<strong>the type of soil<\/strong>among other things,<strong>&nbsp;the grape harvest in Navarra<\/strong>&nbsp;is characterized by the fact that it is staggered until it is completed throughout&nbsp;<strong>the Denomination of Origin<\/strong>. The grape varieties that make up the viticultural map are the following: reds,&nbsp;<strong>Grenache<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Tempranillo<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Cabernet Sauvignon<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Merlot<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Graciano<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Mazuelo<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Syrah<\/strong>&nbsp;y&nbsp;<strong>Pinot Noir<\/strong>and white,&nbsp;<strong>Chardonnay<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Viura<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Grenache White<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Muscatel de Grano Menudo<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Malvasia&nbsp;<\/strong>y&nbsp;<strong>Sauvignon Blanc<\/strong>.
